Stay safe with money this Christmas

‘The only thing getting ripped off this Christmas, should be the wrapping paper!’ is being shared on social media and is aimed at reminding people to make wise choices about their spending at this time of year.

Chairman of the Safeguarding Adults Board, John Brimley, said: “Christmas is a time for giving. However, for people on low incomes, such as benefits, minimum wage or pension, the need to buy presents for loved ones can be a pressure which tempts them into taking out short-term loans.

New NHS FGM Campaign

As we near the start of the summer school holidays when the numbers of girls taken outside of the UK to be cut increases, we are raising awareness of the severe health implications of FGM for those living in UK who are members of communities affected by FGM.  We are using TV advertising to directly reach out to communities with this message.

FGM Prevention Week

This year as part of the International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) (6th February), the Department of Health is promoting an FGM Prevention Week which commences on February 8th and they are asking all trusts and healthcare professionals to support and take action by raising the profile of FGM in their organisation.

Bolton CCG MCA Event
